SAP continues to evolve its Cloud ERP solution, delivering biannual updates in February and August that bring fresh innovations to its users. The latest 2508 release is no exception, packed with features to enhance efficiency, resilience and growth. We caught up with a couple of our digital core team consultants to get their insights on what has caught their attention:
- Personalised Fiori Experience and AI-Powered Search: Users can now customise their Fiori home page more intuitively than ever. Combined with AI-assisted enterprise search, this update significantly boosts usability and productivity.
- GenAI Extensibility Assistant: AI capabilities continue to grow in Cloud ERP. One thing that really stood out for us was the extensibility assistant. This is a genAI-driven assistant that, within the Custom Fields app, helps you to achieve various tasks related to field extensibility, such creating custom fields.
- AI-Generated Explanations for Key Figures: Building on the AI generated explanations for depreciation keys update in 2502, Cloud ERP now offers AI-generated insights into key figures like APC and depreciation. This simplifies complex calculations using natural language.
- Enhanced Data Migration Error Handling: Long term users will know the frustrations of finding issues in load files using the migrate my data app. This release goes some way to address this with extra error handling functionalities within the migration cockpit, making it easier to resolve issues and reducing rework.
- Environmental Compliance Register for Manufacturing: Within the manufacturing area we see the introduction of the Environmental Manage Compliance Register App. This is a great tool to ensure that you are fully on top of your regulatory compliance.
- Integrated Dispute Resolution for Receivables: Three new apps (Manage Receivables, Dispute Resolution, and Automate Dispute Resolution) offer a seamless way to handle customer disputes, integrating receivables with FSCM dispute management.
- Accounting and Financial Close: The Analysed Closing Run Results App (F3753) now provides results and message tabs for better analysis, reporting and reconciliation of advanced foreign currency valuation jobs.
- Natural Language Asset Creation with Joule: Would you like your users to create fixed assets using natural language? That time has now arrived with Joule. Simply type “create an asset” and Joule will guide you through the process.
- Modernised Supply Chain Transactions: In the supply chain area, we sadly say goodbye to probably two of the best-known legacy transactions MB52 (material documents list) and MB52 (display warehouse stock). These stalwarts have been replaced with Material Documents Overview and Stock Multiple Materials apps, which offer improved response times and a better user experience.
- Country-Specific Legislative Updates: As we have come to expect from SAP, they continue to show their commitment to keeping current with all the country specific legislative changes with a raft of new items being brought to the table for this release
