Sigma Healthcare is now benefitting from improved accuracy, increased throughput and a more streamlined process for its warehouse teams, as a result of seamless, direct integration of its automation equipment with SAP EWM.

With the construction of a new distribution centre in Hobart (Australia), Sigma Healthcare took the opportunity to move away from the paper based processes at the previous site. Instead, turning to automation and scanning for real time data in SAP, and they've never looked back.
Working closely with the Sigma team, TCT designed and implemented the integration of a new conveyor system directly with SAP EWM. The solution automated key picking and packing processes, introduced scanning verification and improved order validation, helping to increase throughput and accuracy while reducing manual intervention. The successful implementation has provided Sigma with a scalable platform for future warehouse innovation and supported plans for wider SAP S/4HANA deployments across the business.
"This is the first site that we have not used a third party to integrate our automation equipment with SAP, so having this direct integration has improved efficiencies at Hobart, which has allowed a greater capacity to flow through the process. Reducing human inputs and utilising scanning for pick verifications has also increased our pick accuracy for a more streamlined operation."
